Here are some pages from THE YEAR OF HOURGLASS, a collection of 54 line drawings. First I make a fast, more or less "automatic" painting in watercolor. Later I come back and trace lines of the painting onto a sheet of onionskin paper. The images that show up may be obvious, or they may be hiding, but in any case I'm always surprised.
